The difference in one sentence
Tradetron is a strategy builder; HT Bot is a managed index-options bot. Tradetron gives you a canvas and a condition language, then asks you to design, backtest and maintain the strategy yourself. HT Bot ships its own Nifty 50, Bank Nifty and Sensex strategies and asks you for three things instead: a budget, a risk limit and a broker connection.
Neither is better in the abstract. The right choice depends on whether your edge lives in a custom rule set or in execution discipline.
Side by side
| Criteria | Tradetron | HT Bot |
|---|---|---|
| Who writes the strategy | You, with a no-code condition builder or by copying a published strategy | HT Bot's engine; you choose the market and the limits |
| Time to first live order | Hours to weeks, depending on the strategy | Minutes once the broker session is validated |
| Instruments | Broad: equities, futures, options, commodities, currencies | Index options only: Nifty 50, Bank Nifty, Sensex |
| Broker coverage | Large published list | Upstox, Zerodha, Angel One, Dhan, Kotak |
| Risk controls | Built into the strategy you author | Platform-level: daily budget, per-script budget, lot and order limits, holding time, Safe Mode |
| Maintenance | Yours — expiry shifts, strike mapping, edge decay | Included, since the strategy is platform-owned |
| Best fit | Traders with a tested, custom rule set | Traders who want index options handled without building a system |
Figures on Tradetron's side are as published on its own site and change without notice; check them against the current documentation before deciding. HT Bot's broker list is on the partners page.
When Tradetron is the right answer
- You already have a rule set with an edge — a specific entry, filter and exit you have tested.
- You need instruments outside index options: stock options, futures, commodity or currency contracts.
- Your broker is not on HT Bot's list.
- You want to publish or sell strategies to other traders.
When HT Bot is the right answer
- You trade Nifty, Bank Nifty or Sensex options and want the decision and execution handled.
- You do not want to maintain a strategy through expiry-day changes and instrument remapping.
- You want platform-level limits — budget, lot caps, holding time, Safe Mode — that a strategy cannot override.
- You want to validate on free paper trading before any live order.
If you are switching from Tradetron
- Run them in parallel on paper. Keep your Tradetron strategies running in simulation while HT Bot paper trades the same indices. Compare trade counts and the reasons in the logs, not just P&L.
- Do not double up on live capital. Two systems on the same index with two risk budgets is how an account takes twice the intended exposure.
- Recreate the non-negotiables as platform limits. A 2% daily loss cap in your old strategy becomes a daily budget and Safe Mode threshold here.
- Connect the broker and validate before flipping live. Broker sessions expire daily for Zerodha, Angel One, Dhan and Kotak, so build the morning validation into your routine.
The question that actually decides it
Ask yourself: do I have a rule set I can write down precisely? If yes, a builder gives you more control. If the honest answer is "I trade what the market gives me", a managed index-options bot fits better and removes a maintenance job you were never going to enjoy.
Frequently asked questions
Is HT Bot a drop-in replacement for Tradetron?
Only if you want someone else to own the strategy logic. Tradetron is a strategy builder: you define the conditions. HT Bot ships its own options strategies and you configure budget and risk. If your edge is a custom rule set, a builder will suit you better; if you want a managed index-options bot, this is the simpler path.
Which brokers does HT Bot support?
Upstox, Zerodha, Angel One, Dhan and Kotak. Tradetron publishes a much larger broker list, so check that your broker is on both before switching.
Can I run both at the same time?
You can hold accounts on both platforms, but do not point two systems at the same capital and the same instrument. Overlapping positions make risk limits and P&L attribution meaningless.
